Ljubljana - a city best discovered slowly
Ljubljana is small enough to feel relaxed and lively enough to draw visitors in quickly. A good taxi ride to the right starting point makes the visit even easier.
Ljubljana has a special advantage: the old town, the Ljubljanica river, the market, bridges, castle and parks are close together. In just a few hours, visitors can walk from cultural sights to cafés, restaurants and green corners.
For tourists, Prešeren Square or the Triple Bridge area is a great starting point. From there, the city is best experienced on foot. A taxi is useful for arrival from a hotel, railway station, airport, P+R parking area or for continuing the journey outside the centre.
Ljubljana is also an excellent base for trips around Slovenia. Bled, Postojna, the coast, Kamnik, Kranj or Celje can be reached as day trips if the transfer is arranged clearly in advance.
